HADDON TOWNSHIP, NJ – An investigation is ongoing after authorities say a man was shot by police during an attempted burglary in Haddon Township early Sunday morning.

Officers encountered a suspected burglar in the stairwell of an apartment building on West Crystal Lake Avenue in Westmont around 1 a.m.

According to officials, he was armed with a knife and the officer fired his weapon after the interaction.
