Elon Musk’s PAC employees fired and canvassers dumped in Michigan: report

According to emails obtained by the publication, the salesmen were promised $2,000 a week in compensation and a round-trip plane ticket. “I have this weird feeling that I need to get out of there,” Florida resident Tyra Muldrow, a 20-year-old black woman, told the newspaper. Muldrow, who had to find her own way home, said she and other salespeople were told they were being fired because some of them spoke to the media.

Muldrow said the group of canvassers she worked with consisted of out-of-state Blacks. Muldrow shared videos Wire which showed cramped quarters and misunderstandings between workers.

Muldrow learned that she and others had been fired through a GroupMe chat run by her cousin, Ebony Jones, who recruited her for the job. “Everyone has been fired,” Jones wrote in the chat. According to Muldrow, Jones then began asking employees about their conversations with the media.

At least four salespeople, including Muldrow, said they were not paid for their work before their contracts were terminated. Muldrow showed Wire that she initially received only $69 through the Cash app “for Gotv” – a link intended to publicize her voting efforts.

“Following the incident, some salespeople and contractors left the program, some chose to stay and all were paid,” Pollard said Wire, although the publication was unable to confirm the veracity of his claims.

Muldrow ultimately received $2,000 in Cash App with the note: “Michigan Gotv 742 Door Paid in Full.”
