A Winnsboro man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Richland Parish

MANGHAM, La. (KNOE) – On Sunday, November 3, just before 4 a.m., Louisiana State Police began investigating a single-vehicle crash.

According to LSP, the crash occurred on Louisiana Highway 132 west of Louisiana Highway 576. The crash killed Jarrod Flores, 44, of Winnsboro.

An investigation by LSP revealed that Flores was eastbound on Louisiana Highway 132 driving a 2017 Toyota 4Runner when the Toyota left the shoulder, struck a tree and overturned. Flores was pronounced dead at the scene.

Louisiana State Police say Flores was not wearing a seat belt, but it is unclear whether a disability was a factor.

The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.

Police want to remind drivers to always make good decisions when driving a motor vehicle. Never drive when impaired, tired or distracted. Obey all traffic regulations and ensure that all passengers are properly secured. While not all accidents are survivable, taking such simple precautions can often mean the difference between life and death.
