One person is dead after a shooting in a Charlotte neighborhood

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A man died in the hospital Saturday after a shooting in Uptown.

Shortly before 10 p.m., officers responded to a report of shots fired on South Church Street. Upon arrival, officers found a man with an apparent gunshot wound.

A doctor arrived at the scene and transported the victim to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The victim was pronounced dead at the hospital.

No suspects have been identified at this time.
