Police pursuit ends with home crash in Elmhurst; juvenile suspect in custody: officials

ELMHURST, sick. – The police chase ended early Sunday morning when a car crashed into a house in… Elmhurst Authorities said a juvenile suspect was also arrested.

The incident occurred at 5 a.m. at the intersection of Vallette and Parkside Avenue.

Berkeley police were chasing two vehicles believed to be involved in a burglary at a vape shop when one of the vehicles left the roadway and crashed into a house.

Police said one of the juvenile suspects escaped from the crashed car but was arrested nearby. No one was home at the time of the accident and no injuries were reported.

Authorities said the vehicle that crashed was stolen from another suburb.

The other vehicle involved in the pursuit, a white Kia SUV, was last seen leaving Elmhurst heading east on I-290 St. Charles Road towards Berkeley.

No other arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
