PLATTE CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – One driver was seriously injured over the weekend after crashing into a rollover on I-29 north of Kansas City International Airport.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol indicates that at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, emergency crews were called to the area of ​​southbound I-29 and Missouri 92 in Platte City for a report of a single-vehicle collision.

When first responders arrived, they found that Eldon, 39, was driving his 2023 Ford Expedition south on the interstate when, for an unknown reason, the vehicle left the roadway and went down an embankment.

Investigators noted that the SUV struck several trees along the way. As a result of the incident, the driver, who was wearing a seat belt at the time, was seriously injured. He was taken away Northern Kansas Community Hospital for treatment.

State troopers said the SUV was completely destroyed in the collision. No further information has been released.
