MOUNT AIRY, Ohio (WKRC) – Two people were shot and injured Sunday afternoon in Mount Airy.

The incident occurred around 2 p.m. in the parking lot of Kirby Apartments, located at 5469 Kirby Avenue.

The age of the victims and the exact circumstances of the shooting are not known. However, a vehicle with a broken window was spotted at the scene and was taken away by the police for further investigation.

Mitch Morris, an anti-violence activist and founder of the nonprofit Save Our Youth Kings and Queens, confirmed that the victims were young people. Morris said his organization is dedicated to preventing such acts of violence.

“It’s terrible, so the most important thing is that we’re just trying to disrupt what’s happening to our young people here. Just try to make them aware of what this gun, what this bullet does to the body and what it means. does to a man and let him know before it’s too late,” Morris said.
