It was a busy weekend for the Hanover Fire Department as crews responded to two separate incidents.

Chief Paul Wiebe says the Jaws of Life was used for recovery Sunday evening after a two-vehicle collision on PTH 12 south of Steinbach.

They were called at 8:15 p.m. He adds that two of the three people involved in the incident were transported to hospital.

As of 10:15 p.m. on Sunday, the PTH 12 line on Road 31N is still closed.

Hanover Fire also responded to a crash Saturday evening on Old Tom Road, north of Park Road on the east side of Steinbach.

Wiebe says they were called at 8:45 p.m. to a traffic accident involving three people.

“Two were thrown out. All people are seriously injured,” he reports, adding that one person was taken to hospital by a STARS helicopter and the other two by a ground ambulance.
