Top MLB bets today (Mookie Betts and Juan Soto still hot in Game 1 of the World Series)

The first game of the World Series will be played Friday night at Dodger Stadium.

What could be better than New York Yankees vs. Los Angeles Dodgers? Choose your hero:

Aaron Judge vs. Shohei Ohtani.

Juan Soto vs. Mookie Betts.

Specifically, on Friday, Gerrit Cole vs. Jack Flaherty.

World Series games are often low-scoring, but considering Friday’s total was 8.5, we should expect the bats to be out.

DraftKings Sportsbook Odds.

Gerrit Cole enters the contest with a 3.31 ERA in three postseason games; however, he has allowed a .297 batting average and has a 1.53 WHIP in those three games.

Jack Flaherty has a postseason ERA of 7.04 despite pitching seven innings against the Mets on October 13. In the remaining two October games, Flaherty allowed 12 earned runs. Flaherty allowed a .254 batting average with a 1.43 WHIP.

In the postseason, the Dodgers averaged 6.36 runs per game. The Yankees average 4.78.

Both pitchers have had plenty of rest and should pitch well, but I’m still banking on the batters being a little better.

No player has more bases (29) or RBIs (12) in the postseason than Mookie Betts. In 20 career games against Gerrit Cole, Mookie is batting .429.

Juan Soto, on the other hand, is hitting .333 with 22 total bases in nine postseason games. Soto hit 41 home runs this season. If all of his games were played at Dodger Stadium, that number would be 50.

If we get anywhere near nine games, both stars will likely be involved. I love the extra money for both players for scoring two or more bases on Friday night.
