The former NFL general manager has his thoughts on the Rival Raiders QB

The Las Vegas Raiders lost to the Denver Broncos and quarterback Bo Nix.

But that doesn’t mean everything will work out in Denver’s Nix era. Nix didn’t even compare to other first-round quarterbacks in this class. Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels are up for the Offensive Rookie of the Year award, and Drake Maye of the New England Patriots is the standout so far.

Former quarterback and NFL pundit Drew Stanton told our Hondo Carpenter ahead of the draft that Nix is ”undraftable” and teams should stay away from the Oregon product.

“He can look good sometimes” – Stanton he said Carpenter. “However, there is a lack of coherence. I look at a guy like that and think, ‘that’s Stetson Bennett’… a guy who’s sneaky athletic and can play and do all that stuff… But when we start paying attention to the nuances, in this offense he was only asked to throw the ball very little distance and the guests fled. To me, that’s concerning right behind the line of scrimmage.”

So far, Nix has been his best performer with the Broncos and head coach Sean Payton. Recently, former Minnesota Vikings general manager Rick Spielman explained why he thought Nix was unimpressive and regressive.

“The only thing is he rides in the pocket. He sees ghosts in his pocket,” Spielman told CBS Sports’ Ryan Wilson.With first choice” “When he doesn’t do that, he can get up and throw. The biggest thing Sean Payton talked about is that he loved Bo Nix so much for his accuracy. Well, I don’t see his accuracy right now, especially when he can’t get his feet right… I thought he was struggling, especially with his accuracy when he goes outside the hole trying to make second-chance throws or… schedule throws. He’s just not the guy we saw in Oregon.”

Spielman also pointed out Nix’s huge mechanics problems, which manifested themselves in poor execution and missed key throws. The Broncos took a risk and drafted Nix so high – will they be charged for it?
