Police say a motorcyclist died after a crash on I-25 and Garden of the Gods Sunday

COLORADO SPRINGS — Police say a motorcyclist is dead following a crash at Garden of the Gods and Sunday on I-25.

This is the second fatal accident involving a motorcycle on Sunday another rider died in an accident in southeast Colorado Springs.

Police say a crash closed the eastbound lanes of Garden of the Gods, west of I-25, for several hours on Sunday. The closure began around 3 p.m., with full traffic opening around 8 p.m

Details on how the accident occurred are limited at this time, CSPD, CSFD and AMR responded to the scene. The cyclist was transported to a local hospital, where police say he died en route from his injuries.

The cyclist’s identity has not been revealed yet. The Colorado Springs Police Department says the Major Crash Team is investigating the incident. No arrests have been made at the time of publishing this article.
