Ole Miss leading forward Henry Parrish Jr. out due to injury

OXFORD, Miss. (AP) – Injured Mississippi State running back Henry Parrish Jr. is not on the depth chart ahead of Saturday’s game against No. 2 Georgia.

Parrish went down with a serious left leg injury during the Rebels’ victory over 16th-ranked Arkansas. Monday’s depth chart only indicated that Ulysses Bentley IV, Matt Jones or Domonique Thomas would start in Saturday’s game against the Bulldogs.

– Yes, he left. That’s all I have,” Kiffin told reporters on Sunday regarding Parrish. He did not provide more details on Monday about the injury transfer to Miami.

Parrish is sixth in the Southeastern Conference in rushing with 678 yards and 10 touchdowns.

“We’re going to need some guys to step up,” Kiffin said Monday. “It’s a big loss for us. He has done well with the ball and protection this year.

“Teams face adversity and this (running) room has to deal with it.”

Thomas, a transfer from Georgia State, had 10 carries for 41 yards in Parrish’s absence against Arkansas. This season he ran for 131 yards and scored a touchdown.

Jones gained 222 yards with three scores, while Bentley has 185 yards and a TD.
