Man held on  million bond for allegedly shooting at home

PARAGOULD, Ark. (KAIT) – Police arrested a man after they say he shot into a home where multiple people and children lived.

The statement states that on Saturday, November 2, at 6:50 p.m., Paragould Emergency Services received multiple calls regarding shots fired at a home in the 200 block of South 10th Avenue.

One caller said Devin Dancer, 22, of Paragould, and a named juvenile were the shooters.

Upon arrival, several people told officers that Dancer had left the home after an argument. A short time later, Dancer returned with the minor and another argument occurred.

“Witnesses stated that the defendant (dancer) was sitting in the passenger seat of the juvenile’s silver Ford Explorer and that he brandished an AR-15 style rifle, pointed it at a person at the scene, and then fired approximately three shots,” the affidavit said. he stated. The officers who arrived at the scene found bullet holes in the house that had been shot at.

Police said in a statement that there were four adults and two juveniles “in front of or inside the home where shots were fired,” but none of them suffered any injuries.

Officers found the Ford Explorer at another home in the 700 block of Wirt Street.

The affidavit states that as they approached the home, a man was spotted through the front window. Then they heard someone running around the yard.

The officers gave commands to the person inside the house, and then the two juveniles went outside.

“One of the juveniles reported that the accused (dancer) escaped through the back door of the residence just prior to our arrival,” police said. “The same juvenile reported that there was a gun in the front seat of his vehicle.”

After obtaining a search warrant for the Ford Explorer, officers found an AR-15 pistol, multiple shell casings and other significant evidence.

While processing the two scenes, Paragould Emergency Services received a 911 call about a man with a gun near where Dancer fled.

Officers later found Dancer walking in the area and arrested him. Two minors were also interviewed as part of Mirandized hearings and gave statements consistent with those of the victims.

On Sunday, October 3, the honorable Greene County Judge Daniel Stidham found probable cause to arrest Dancer for terroristic acts, unlawful discharge of a weapon from a vehicle, and aggravated assault.

Dancer is being held at the Greene County Detention Center on $2 million bail. After his release, he was ordered to have no contact with the victim and not to possess any weapons.
