Towanda man sentenced to two years on multiple charges

TOWANDA, Pennsylvania (WETM) – A Towanda man has been sentenced to prison for various crimes that occurred in Bradford County at different times.

Justin L. Brown, 40, was sentenced to a minimum of two years and a maximum of 12 years in state prison on two counts of criminal mischief (a third-degree felony), simple assault, driving under the influence of marijuana and accident resulting in death or bodily injury, according to a news release Bradford County District Attorney.

The district attorney says Brown was originally arrested by Pennsylvania State Police on charges of trespassing and simple assault after he entered a home in Standing Stone Township that he did not have permission to enter and attacked someone. The district attorney further states that due to the circumstances of the assault, it was considered a misdemeanor domestic violence offense and he is no longer allowed to possess a firearm.

In April 2024, while he was free on bail for a previous crime, the district attorney alleged that Brown entered the home of someone he had previously beaten while she was away and changed the locks without her consent. After arriving home, the victim called police and Brown was charged with a second offense.

Then that same month, the district attorney states that Brown was involved in a car accident in which he collided with another vehicle in Wyalusing. As a result, his car was damaged and the driver of the other vehicle was injured. After a blood draw, it was determined that Brown was driving under the influence of marijuana.
