London police announced the arrest of a fourth suspect in connection with the death of a man who was found unconscious and severely beaten in a council flat in the south end of the city on July 20.

Police said they arrested a woman on October 24.

The suspect, identified as Kerry Ann Marie Bailey, 54, of London, has been charged with accessory after the fact to murder. The accused remains in police custody.

Darko Lukic, 48, was found with life-threatening injuries at 122 Base Line Rd. W. after a serious attack in July. The father of two children was taken to hospital and died a few days later, which prompted the police to launch a murder investigation.

In addition to Bailey, three other people were charged in connection with the death.

October 4 LPS said Jamie Lynn Bailey30, was charged with accessory after the fact to murder.

August 7 LPS announced the 19-year-old Dauntae Johnson was arrested on charges of second-degree murder and aggravated assault.

Joseph Mark Mercer Veneau, 30, was arrested in the Halifax area on the morning of Aug. 17 and charged with one count of second-degree murder and two counts of aggravated assault.

Lukić’s death was one of three that occurred in London’s residential buildings in two months. Since then, public scrutiny of the city’s public housing system has intensified, with residents and advocates calling for “24/7 security and better supervision.”

In early September, a shooting was reported at a public housing complex on Boullee Street.
