Honoring and remembering Senator Wellstone and others on the anniversary of the disaster

A sunny and breezy morning to remember and honor the late Senator Paul Wellstone.

It has been 22 years since his plane crashed near Eveleth, killing the senator, his wife, daughter, three staffers and two pilots.

On Friday, friends gathered to share memories and reflect on what Wellstone represents.

“He was obviously a strong democrat. But he could find the most right-wing Republican, find something they agreed on, and create bipartisan legislation. Especially in these times, we wanted to unite that you can disagree with people and still unite and do good for the country. Do something good for Minnesota. Do good for the Iron Range,” said Lisa Radosevich-Craig, former director of Wellstone Northern Minnesota.

The event was sponsored by DFL District 07.
