Two pensioners have died in a road accident in Co Antrim

Two pensioners have died following a road accident in Co Antrim.

Two men, aged 75 and 82, died on Friday afternoon after a car collided with a lorry on Frosses Road, near Ballymoney.

PSNI roads inspector Cherith Adair said police received reports of the collision at around 1.10pm.

“Officers and colleagues from other rescue services arrived at the scene, but unfortunately the car driver died on the spot, and the passenger died shortly later in hospital,” she said.

“Officers from the investigation unit investigating the circumstances of the collision are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone with CCTV, dash cam or other material that could assist with the investigation to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 757 25 ./10/24.”
