A man has died after being found shot near a road. Suspect in custody: St. Police Pete

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – St. Petersburg Police say a suspect is in custody after a man was found shot to death on the side of the street Friday morning and later died.

Police said investigators discovered the victim, identified as Justin Baumgardner, 31, lying along Jefferson Circle North shortly after 1 a.m.

He was taken to hospital, but did not survive.

According to SPPD, the suspect and victim knew each other before the shooting.

No further details were released, including the identity of the suspect.
