Three GTA suspects charged with stealing stolen BMW

Three people will be charged in connection with car theft Stolen BMW that collided with a TTC bus in North York early Monday morning.

A white BMW X6 was stolen Conestoga Drive and Sandalwood Parkway East area in Brampton earlier this month.

Police say the victim was driving his BMW when he was struck by a black sedan. Two suspects allegedly exited the sedan and approached the victim, with one of them pulling out a gun and demanding the BMW.

Officers said the victim got out of the BMW and the suspects drove away in the car, with a black sedan driving in tandem.

Nearly two weeks later, police said they responded to a home alarm in the North York area Bathurst Street and Brooke AvenueNovember 13 around 4:20.

According to police, the five suspects were in a stolen BMW X6 when they drove up to the house and threw a rock, shattering the glass front door of the residence.

Officers said the glass was “reinforced with security foil,” which prevented them from entering the home, so the suspects drove away.

About half an hour later, police said they responded to a burglary in the area of ​​Bayview Avenue and York Mills.

This time, police said the suspects managed to break down the front door, enter the house and take several personal items, then drive away in a stolen BMW X6.

A few days later, on Monday, just before 2 a.m., the police announced that they had taken action in connection with the accident that occurred near ul. Wilson Avenue and Bathurst Street. The BMW collided with a TTC bus, causing it to spin. The collision was captured on video that was shared online.

Police said the BMW burst into flames and officers managed to pull two passengers out of it and extinguish the fire. They were transported to a trauma center in life-threatening condition.

Officers said the driver and four passengers of the TTC bus suffered minor injuries, including a woman who was thrown from the bus.

In connection with the incidents, the police charged three people: 33-year-old Abhira Ponniah, 19-year-old Khasim Mohammed and 31-year-old Anestan Ganeshamoorthy. Ganeshamoorthy faces the most charges, including fleeing from police, dangerous operation of a means of transport and two counts each of burglary, willful concealment and failure to comply with recognisance. The allegations have not been tested in court.

Police said the investigation was ongoing and that further charges may be filed.
