MSNBC is facing backlash for using footage of Nazi rallies during its coverage of Madison Square Garden

A conservative storm erupted on social media MSNBC for including clips from the 1939 Nazi rally at Madison Square Garden during coverage of the former president Donald Trumpan event that will take place over the weekend at a New York venue.

The leftist network was on par with Trump’s Sunday evening rally with the German-American Bund Madison Square Garden event held on the eve of World War II, where they rallied to support the Nazi movement.

“But this event that is taking place right now, you see on the screen, at this point is particularly terrifying because in 1939, over 20,000 supporters of another fascist leader, Adolf Hitler, filled the Garden for a so-called pro-American rally,” the MSNBC anchor warned as footage of the participants of the 1939 rally appeared on the Internet.

The Trump campaign event at Madison Square Garden took place just over a week before Election Day. The packed arena cheered as one rally speaker addressed Harris’ campaign message, touting, “joy”in New York. “Dream Big Again” slogans flashed across giant screens as Trump courted voters in his hometown.

Conservatives were quick to defend the GOP leader’s rally against MSNBC’s spin on the event, arguing that the network had reached a “new low” by trying to “demonize millions of Americans.”

The network’s decision to put the footage together came after days of accusations that Trump was a “fascist” and blatant comparisons of the former president to Hitler. Vice President Kamala Harris accused Trump of being a fascist, while her running mate, Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN), suggested there was a “direct similarity” between the 1939 rally and Trump’s Sunday evening event. Other leading Democrats, including former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, say Trump tried to “reenact“Nazi rally.

The reaction to MSNBC’s coverage of Sunday night was immediate, as Republicans took note of the diverse group of participants, including a Holocaust survivor.

“Hey @MSNBC, this is what you just broadcast on National TV, and this is Jerry Wartski, Holocaust survivor, at today’s rally. True colors. You owe this man an apology. Not to mention the rest of the Jews at the Madison rally. Whose anti-Semite?” one user questioned.

Jerry Wartski, who was imprisoned at Auschwitz and survived one of the Nazi death marches, sharply criticized Harris for portraying Trump as a fascist.

“I know more about Hitler than Kamala will ever know in a thousand lifetimes. “For him to accuse President Trump of being like Hitler is the worst thing I have ever heard in 75 years of living in the United States,” he said in a recent campaign video for Trump.

“She owes my parents and everyone else who was murdered by Hitler an apology for repeating this lie,” he continued.

Madison Square Garden has been a popular destination for American politicians for almost a hundred years. Kennedy at his ceremony at Madison Square Garden in 1962. The New York facility also hosted former the site of many Democratic and Republican national conventions.
