A man in a medical hat died in a motorcycle accident

RCMP say a man wearing a medical hat was killed Sunday night in southeastern Alberta.

Both vehicles were traveling east on Highway 1, just east of Boundary Road SE, when they collided around 5:15 p.m.

RCMP say the motorcyclist, a 66-year-old man, was taken to Medicine Hat Hospital with life-threatening injuries but later died.

The driver of the SUV was not injured.

As a result of the collision, a section of highway No. 1 was blocked for several hours.

RCMP have not yet determined the cause of the crash.
