Two people arrested after entering a Redding town square and stealing money

Two people were arrested early Monday morning after a break-in at a Redding business.

The Redding Police Department (RPD) said officers responded to a burglary alarm at Bonnyview Market, at North and East Bonnyview roads, in the early morning hours of Monday, October 28. Officers arrived at the store to find significant damage to the building, with parts of the wall and door frame pushed inward.

Through investigation, officers determined that a female suspect, later identified as Amber Crume, 40, of Redding, entered the business and stole money from the cash register. Officers said a red Dodge Ram pickup truck with a camper body was seen nearby at the time of the break-in.

About an hour later, police said the truck was found parked behind a business in the 3500 block of South Market Street. When officers approached the vehicle, they found pieces of drywall on the rear bumper.

After speaking with two people inside the truck, identified as Crume and Jason Kenyon, 40, of Cottonwood, RPD said officers found additional evidence linking Crume and Kenyon to the burglary.

Ultimately, RPD said Crume and Kenyon were booked into the Shasta County Jail for burglary and conspiracy.
