Tributes were paid to the father and son who died in the accident

Their funeral heard that the father and son who died in a crash in Co Armagh “both symbolized hard work”.

Peter and Loughlin Devlin died on Friday at the scene of a two-car collision outside the village of Killylea.

Four other people, including a child, were taken to hospital.

One of the women suffered serious injuries and her condition is critical.

On Wednesday, during the funeral Mass, Fr. Dermot McCaul said that “love was very important in their lives.”

“We are gathered here today for one reason only: out of love – love, empathy – for the Devlin family,” said the Rev. McCaul.

“We are here for love,” he said.

“Both Peter and Loughlin symbolized hard work,” he told mourners.

“Loughlin started a new business again with his father-in-law to provide for their families.

“Faith and providing for their families were very important to each of them.”

He also appealed to those present to be careful on the roads.

The funeral mass took place on Wednesday afternoon at the church of St. Józef Tynan.

Last week, Fr. Sean Moore said the Devlin family was well known in the community where Peter worked as a painter.
