The Palghar family ends up in hospital after an explosion occurs while changing the expiration dates of perfume bottles

Four family members, including two minors, were injured in an explosion that occurred on the night of Thursday to Friday in an apartment in Palghar district of Maharashtra. The explosion occurred when the victims tried to change the expiration date on perfume bottles.

The incident took place at 112 Roshni Apartments in Nala Sopara near Mumbai.

Police identified the victims as Mahavir Wadar (41), Sunita Wadar (38), Kumar Harshvardhan Wadar (9) and Kumari Harshada Wadar (14).

Citing the findings of a preliminary investigation, police said the explosion occurred when they tried to change the expiration date of perfume bottles. “The action may have involved the use of flammable substances,” said a police officer.

One of the injured is being treated at Life Care Hospital in Nala Sopara, the others are being treated at Oscar Hospital in the same area.

Palghar man jailed for wife’s suicide

The Maharashtra Police has initiated legal action against a 42-year-old man from Palghar for allegedly abetting his wife’s suicide. A man employed on a cargo ship did not live with his wife when he was not at work, according to police reports released Friday. The woman, a 39-year-old doctor, lived in the couple’s house in Vasai, on the outskirts of Mumbai.

According to news agency PTI, the situation escalated when the wife confronted her husband after discovering the extramarital affair. The woman’s family claimed that she had been constantly harassed by him since then. Unable to bear the persecution, she took her own life on January 6 by hanging herself in their house, their family claims.

The woman’s family provided the police with certain documents to support their claims that the man’s behavior drove her to commit suicide.
