A power outage delays the investigation into the death of a child in a parking lot

An inquest into the death of a girl who was fatally injured in a multi-storey car park has been postponed due to a power outage.

Death trial six-month-old Sophia Kelemen was due to take place on Friday at Pembrokeshire Council’s town hall in Haverfordwest.

Another investigation was also to be initiated death of Aaron Jones38, but both will be questioned next week.

The council said a power outage meant it was unable to receive calls or emails, while the Hywel Dda health board found that telephone systems in hospitals were not working.

Sophia, from Leigh, Greater Manchester, was taken to hospital after the accident in Tenby on January 2, but died the following day.

Flaviu Naghi, 33, from Wigan, was charged with causing death by dangerous driving and driving without a license or insurance. He will appear at Swansea Crown Court on February 7.

Jones, from Llanpumsaint, Carmarthenshire, was hit by a car near Caer Salem Baptist Chapel on December 23.

A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop before a collision and failing to report a collision.
