Police have pronounced a Minneapolis man dead in an apartment building

A man was killed in a shooting in Minneapolis on Thursday evening.

According to the Minneapolis Police Department, the shooting occurred at 1100 James Avenue North around 10:30 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found a man shot in the apartment building. The police pronounced him dead on the spot.

Police said the suspect fired several shots at the man and then fled the apartment before police arrived. No arrests have been made at this time.

“Our investigators are fully committed to bringing justice to the victim and providing answers to his family,” said Chief O’Hara. “We strongly encourage anyone with information regarding this tragic incident to come forward and support our efforts to hold this family accountable.”

The identity of the deceased will be released at a later date by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.
