An emergency evacuation of a Delta plane shocked passengers in Atlanta.

The husband of one of the passengers on the flight from Atlanta to Minneapolis-St. On Friday, January 10, Paul shared the video on the site Reddit aircraft evacuation slides are activated as a rare snowfall accumulates at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

“They were accelerating for takeoff and the plane slowed down,” the poster’s wife told him about the shocking incident. “They were told to duck and then told to evacuate via the emergency slide.”

Video recorded by First, news from Atlanta showed passengers descending down slides and escaping from the plane. The recording showed that several passengers panicked and tried to get as far away from the plane as possible.

Delta Airlines told PEOPLE in a statement that its flight crew had to “suspend takeoff” of Flight 2668 after “indications” of an “engine problem,” though it did not detail what may have caused the problem or its severity.

“There is nothing more important than the safety of our employees and customers, and we apologize to our customers for their experience,” the airline said in a statement. “We are working to support our customers and get them to their destinations as safely and quickly as possible.”

Delta noted that there were 201 passengers and seven crew members, including two pilots and five flight attendants, on board when the Boeing 757-300 experienced the problem. Passengers were evacuated from the plane via a slide and transported back to the terminal by ground transport, the airline said.

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is shared statement regarding X that the incident occurred around 9:10 a.m. and four passengers reported minor injuries. One person was transported to hospital for observation, three people were treated on site.

It also noted that the incident, combined with “persistent severe weather conditions,” had delayed operations at the airport, but a 10:35 a.m. update said the “aircraft and runway are expected to be cleared shortly.”

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said in its report website that he was investigating the incident. This too issued an arrest warrant for Delta flights to Atlanta, which has been extended to 2 p.m

The Redditor who shared the initial report also provided an update on his wife and the remaining passengers on the flight, saying that upon returning to the airport terminal, they were taken to “some conference room” with “snacks and drinks” and cots.” However, it was unclear whether passengers would be able to immediately rebook on a new flight.
