Residents of the Ablekuma North constituency in the Greater Accra Region are the only people who have no representation in Ghana’s 9th Parliament.

The Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) is yet to finalize the results of the 2024 general elections in the constituency, after invalidating the results initially announced which were in favor of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, Ewurabena Aubynn.

The EC invalidated this declaration and ordered the results to be re-collected, claiming that it was done without results from about 61 polling stations.

After repeated discussions in court, the re-collation was completed, but the results of 13 polling stations were disputed, with the European Commission, NDC and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) stating that they had no pink sheets from the said stations.

Pink papers were discovered relating to the polling stations in question, allowing the re-sorting process to resume on January 8, 2024.

However, the NDC alleged that the pink slips provided for the exercise were forged, prompting the presiding officers of the respective polling stations to check the pink slips.

A video uploaded by Citi FM on X captured the moment when one of the chairmen refused to issue the pink slip he was supposed to issue.

After initially verifying some of the data on the pink slip, the presiding officer expressed surprise when he reached the section regarding rejected ballots.

He stated that he was not aware of the existence of the character that was registered there.

“The numbers are correct, but we have not received any rejected ballots. But I see rejected ballots here. I can’t confirm this. “We didn’t have any rejected ballots that day,” he said.
