One person was killed following a head-on collision in East Las Vegas earlier this week

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) – One person was killed following a crash in the East Valley earlier this week.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the crash occurred Wednesday around 3:19 p.m. on Nellis Boulevard, north of Vista Flora Way.

A 2014 Ram 1500 was traveling north on Nellis in the center of the three lanes, at the same time a 2006 Toyota Sienna was traveling south on Nellis in the far left lane, each approaching the intersection with Vista Flora Way.

The Ram began to drift left, over the concrete median barrier and into the path of the Toyota.

Both vehicles suffered serious damage. The driver of the Ram was taken to Sunrise Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Toyota, who showed no signs of impairment, had to be extricated from the vehicle and was taken to Sunrise Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

This incident is the third traffic fatality of 2025 under the jurisdiction of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. This collision is being investigated by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section.
