Woman committed suicide in Delhi after argument with husband, he committed suicide in UP – Delhi News

On Saturday, police said a young husband and wife died by suicide on the same day in different places following a fight. A woman, who had left her home after an argument, was found hanging from a pole in northeast Delhi, while her husband took his own life at their house in UP’s Ghaziabad.

The body of the woman, identified as 30-year-old Shivani, was found on Friday evening in a vacant plot in Delhi’s Jyoti Nagar, about 8 km from her house in Loni, Ghaziabad. When locals alerted police, officers reached the post office and found a mobile phone in her pocket, which provided key clues to her identity.

Officers then contacted Ghaziabad police, who discovered that her husband, 32-year-old Vijay Pratap Chauhan, was also hanging in their house.

“The device was turned on, the woman’s family members were contacted and informed of her death. During the investigation, it turned out that her husband also committed suicide in their apartment,” said a police officer.

An investigation revealed that the couple had been arguing before the incident. The police stated that no crime was suspected and no signs of injury were found on the bodies. Moreover, no suicide note has been found so far.
