Assam coal mine tragedy: Death toll rises to three as rescue operation continues

Rescue teams on Saturday recovered the bodies of two more workers from a flooded ‘rat hole’ coal mine in Assam’s Dima Hasao district, taking the death toll to three. Officials confirmed recovery after the sixth day of rescue operations. Efforts continue to locate and rescue the remaining trapped workers. Work has been underway since Thursday to drain the 340-feet-deep quarry using specialized equipment provided by ONGC and Coal India.
