As a result of internal fights in the Student Movement Against Discrimination, 9 people were injured

A clash broke out between two groups of the Students’ Anti-Discrimination Movement over a dispute over the group’s Mirpur Thana Committee in Dhaka. According to reports, nine people were injured in the incident.

The injured received basic treatment at the emergency department of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Medical University (BSMMU) and were later discharged.

The incident took place on January 10 around 8:30 p.m. at the organization’s main office located at Rupayan Tower in the capital’s Banglamotor.

Abu Naser, deputy director of BSMMU, confirmed the matter to UNB.

He stated: “Nine injured people arrived here last night around 8:30 p.m. They had cuts and wounds, but none of them required hospitalization. They were provided with basic care and discharged home.”

He also mentioned that the injured people were handed over to Hamza Mahbub, crisis management coordinator at the Student Movement Against Discrimination.
