From January 21, data of identified beneficiaries will be entered, and from January 26, new ration cards will be issued.

Ponnam Prabhakar, minister in-charge of Hyderabad, said the Congress government has not defined any new criteria for issuing new ration cards.

He said the eligibility rules laid down in the past would be followed while issuing ration cards. He also assured that families who have migrated to Hyderabad from the districts will also be provided with ration cards.

He said the government would rise above politics to bring justice to the poor. Ponnam Prabhakar said that applications for new ration cards and Indiramma houses would be accepted.

He said people owning land in Hyderabad would be given priority under the Indiramma housing scheme to help them build houses.

The minister said that the Congress government will also complete the two-room houses whose construction was undertaken by the previous government.

The government will hold talks with contractors on this matter.

The completed 2BHK houses will be allotted to the beneficiaries by drawing lots.

Clarifying that the new ration cards will be issued in the state as per the previous eligibility rules, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy instructed the District Collectors to take precautions to ensure that a person does not have ration cards in multiple places.

Issuing new ration cards and sanctioning Indiramma houses are among the four schemes the government will launch on January 26. On the same day, the government will launch Rythu Bharosa, under which farmers will get crop investment support of Rs 12,000 per acre, and Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa, under which every landless poor working family will get financial assistance of Rs 12,000 per year.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced on January 10 that the lists of Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa and ration card beneficiaries would be displayed in Gram Sabhas. The Prime Minister stated that the goal of his government is to build houses for all homeless families.

Details of 18.32 lakh people identified through the Indiramma app have already been sent to the districts. The poorest of the poor will be given priority in sanctioning houses. Under the first phase of the program, sanctions have already been imposed on 3,500 houses in each Assembly constituency. IANS
