Police said a 26-year-old college student committed suicide on Sunday by jumping from a building in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur city.

The incident took place in the Civil Line police station area of ​​the colony, the official said.

Civil police station in-charge Valmiki Choube said the woman, Deeksha Gupta, a resident of Rath in Uttar Pradesh, was staying in a rented house.

He added that the woman was a final-year bachelor’s student.

The official said Deeksha jumped from the third floor of the building while her mother was in the toilet. People from the area took her to the hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead.

He added that the reason for such an extreme step has not yet been established.

Dr Abhay Singh of the district hospital said the woman was brought dead to the hospital.

The deceased woman’s mother, Indira Gupta, said her daughter was pursuing a bachelor’s degree in microbiology from Maharaja Chhatrasal University.

Deeksha jumped from the third floor of the building, she told reporters.

Gupta said her daughter lived alone in Chhatarpur and had come to visit.
