Experienced actor Mukesh Khanna he recently responded to allegations of copying the Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchanshedding light on an old anecdote related to a remark allegedly made by Big B. Mukesh he shared how a comment attributed to Amitabh has stuck with him over the years, although he explained that it never influenced his career decisions or affected their mutual respect.

When interacting on a YouTube channel Indian rushMukesh shared an incident related to an advertisement in which he appeared. In the ad, he was seen applying perfume, which attracted girls and made them stare at him. One person told him that when the ad was released in theaters, he was with Amitabh and Big B made a shocking statement about Mukesh.
“He told me that Amit ji saw the ad and said, ‘Saala copy hai card’ (copy me). If I were in his place, I would say the same,” Mukesh added. Admitting that the statement stuck with him, Mukesh recalled his initial disbelief, saying, “I told the man, ‘Pagal hai tu, wow, it hurts so much? (Are you mad? Do you think he would say that?)’”
Mukesh also shared how this comment has been perceived by the media over the years. He rejected suggestions that the alleged remark had a negative impact on his career. “Many people suggested that Amitabh Bachchan’s single statement ‘ended’ my career. But saying so is someone’s nonsense,” he noted, emphasizing that his career trajectory has nothing to do with Amitabh’s words.

The actor recalled an exchange with a journalist who asked whether Amitabh had sabotaged his career. Mukesh vehemently denied this idea.
Mukesh highlighted his cordial interactions with Amitabh over the years despite the alleged comment. He related a specific incident on a flight from London to India where they greeted each other before taking their seats. “I have met Amitabh “10 times” since I heard about the alleged remark. We always exchanged pleasantries,” Mukesh said.
The actor explained that his choices in the entertainment industry were based on his own preferences. He stated that Amitabh did not stop him from playing ‘Mahabharat‘ Or ‘Śakimaan‘. He added that he only acted in a few films because he was signed to a limited number of films.
