Watch: Mohammad Nawaz and Tanzim Hasan get into a physical fight in BPL

Bangladesh bowler Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz were seen during the 17th match of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) between Sylhet Strikers and Khulna Tigers on Sunday, January 12. During the second innings of the match, Khulna were chasing a target of 183 when Tanzim dismissed Nawaz in the 17th over.^vol after rounds.

Spinning around the wicket, Tanzim outsmarted Nawaz with a slower delivery as he flicked the ball in the air towards third man, where Zakir Hasan took a confident catch. As a result, the Pakistan batsman was dismissed for 33 (18), leaving Khulna with the score 130/6 in 16.1 overs.

After dismissing the batsman, Tanzim said a few words to Nawaz to bid him farewell. The two players even came at each other aggressively as a storm broke out between them on the cricket field. Referees and other players had to intervene to separate the two players and calm the situation in midfield.

Sylhet Strikers defeated Khulna Tigers by 8 runs

Coming back to the match, Sylhet Strikers, after coming into action first, did not start the match well as openers Rahkeem Cornwall (4 off 5) and George Munsey (2 off 7) got out cheaply, leaving their team in a difficult position. 15/2 in 4.2 overs. After two initial knocks, Rony Talukdar (56 off 44) and Zakir Hasan (75* off 46) engaged in a mighty 106-run fight in which they lost 62 balls.

Aaron Jones (20 off 6) and Ariful Haque (21* off 13) also played quick knocks to help their team reach 182/5 in their allotted 20 overs. In reply, Khulna Tigers’ score in 20 overs was limited to 174/9 with William Bosisto (43 off 40) being the highest scorer for his team. Tanzim Hasan (2/45), Reece Topley (2/45) and Ruyel Miyah (2/28) took two wickets each for Sylhet. As a result, Sylhet won the match by eight runs and Zakir Hasan was adjudged Player of the Match with his unbeaten 75.
