Caroline Dubois sends a message to Terri Harper: “Fight with me. You will lose, but you will get a great show” | Boxing news

Caroline Dubois focused on the unification of world champion titles and called for another fight with Terri Harper.

Dubois is the WBC lightweight champion, and rival Briton Harper is the WBO world champion.

“My weight class is 135 pounds. I want to be undisputed by the end of the year. That’s my goal, that’s the goal for me and we’re going to achieve it,” Dubois said Heavenly sports.

“Unification, a challenge to the undisputed, a challenge to all lanes, a challenge to make it happen. Anything that can make that happen as quickly as possible.”

Dubois didn’t quite get her dream birthday present on Saturday, as she turned 24. She was hoping for a knockout win over Jessica Camara.

Summary of the match between Caroline Dubois and Jessica Camara

She looked for a stoppage and subjected Camara to a relentless attack for two rounds. However, when a cut from an accidental headbutt prevented Camara from continuing the fight, it meant the fight ended in a premature technical draw.

Immediately afterwards, Dubois announced what she wanted next: “Terri Harper. That’s what I want. Terri Harper – I want you!”

Dubois said Heavenly sports: “The show at the Royal Albert Hall is coming up (March 7). This is in London. Terri is from England, I am from England. This is a national competition. That makes sense. I don’t understand why not.

“Fight me, you will be defeated, but you will get a great show, you will get good pay, that will make it worth it.”

Caroline Dubois is looking for a unification fight with Terri Harper in 2025 and was unimpressed with her victory over Rhiannon Dixon

Promoter Ben Shalom points out that Dubois has other options to fight on March 7.

“The idea is that she will fight on women’s night and it will be a big fight,” Shalom said Heavenly sports.

“We want her to become undisputed in this division. We think we can achieve that this year.”

He believes Dubois’ next fight should be a unification. “We are focused on winning another belt. Of course you have Terri Harper, you have Beatriz Ferreira (IBF champion) and you probably have Stephanie Han (for the vacant) WBA title,” Shalom said.

“You’ve got those three on the list, Rhiannon Dixon’s on the list too. It’s a great British fight. So he has options.”

Shalom expects to fight Harper at some point in 2025. “I think we can achieve it this year. I think we’ll see it this year,” he said.

Caroline Dubois says she doesn’t need a fight with Katie Taylor as she looks to leave her legacy in boxing after being crowned the new WBC lightweight champion

“I think they are open to it. This will be expensive because no one really wants to fight Caroline. I think this is the hardest fight in the division for everyone and it’s a money fight for everyone.

“She made a lot of noise. She’s a big name, many people consider her the next face of women’s boxing, and this means that the fighters want Caroline Dubois to fight for the highest earnings in their career.

“That’s what Terri Harper wants and I think that fight will happen this year.”

Natasha Jonas and Lauren Price will fight live on March 7 as part of the welterweight world title unification Heavenly sports.
