Chicago crash: Wrong-way driver hits CTA bus at Van Buren and Dearborn loops, police say

CHICAGO (WLS) — A man is in custody after allegedly colliding with a CTA bus downtown, according to Chicago police.

Police said the accident happened around 12:07 a.m. Monday at 300 S. Dearborn in the Loop.

The man was driving a gray Jeep eastbound on Van Buren Street, which is a one-way street. Police said he then allegedly collided with a CTA bus heading north on Dearborn.

The Jeep hit a parked car and then stopped.

A woman was also driving the Jeep. The Jeep driver and passenger were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The CTA bus driver was taken to the hospital, but is expected to be OK.

There were no passengers on the bus at the time of the accident.

The Jeep driver was taken into custody. Fees are pending.
