Naked New York man arrested after home invasion in Monroe County

The New York man was not wearing any clothes when he allegedly broke into the store Monroe County to the house and attacked the resident.

Monroe County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to the 8800 block of Swan Creek Road in Berlin Township around 8:30 p.m. Monday on reports that a naked man was trying to enter the business. 911 callers said the man was acting strangely and saying strange things before he fled, leaving his vehicle behind.

While officers were searching for the man, a resident of the 3600 block of Law Street called 911 and said a man matching the description had entered his home. When the homeowner confronted the suspect, the naked man allegedly attacked him before leaving and walking away from the home.

When officers spotted the 34-year-old man leaving the home, he allegedly ran back into the home, tried to get inside again and attacked the homeowner a second time.

After a fight between the suspect and deputies, he was arrested for home invasion, resisting, obstructing or assaulting police, and indecent exposure. He is currently incarcerated in the Monroe County Jail.
