Mom who sexually assaulted two teenage girls after complaining to them about marital problems in a hot tub meets her fate

A Minnesota mother avoided prison time after being convicted of sexually abusing two 15-year-old boys at a hotel last year.

The Minnesota All-Star Tribune announced Monday that 39-year-old Allison Schardin was sentenced to two weekends in jail and 200 hours of community service for crimes that occurred last January at a hotel in Roseville, Minnesota. Tribune of Stars reports that the mother of two met with a group of 15-year-old Colorado hockey players in a hotel hot tub and later abused two of them in their room.

Prosecutors said during Schardin’s trial that she was also staying at the hotel with her husband and two children for an alleged “overnight stay” on the night of the violence, the newspaper reported.

The Tribune of Stars, CBS News and Pioneer press previously reported that while in a hot tub, Schardin confided in the boys that she was having marital problems. She later sent a Snapchat message to one of the boys who was in town for a hockey tournament, saying she had had an argument with her husband and wanted to stay in their room, where she later came in and started talking about sex.

According to media reports, when she was arrested on February 1, 2024, Schardin admitted to having sexual contact with the boys. After meeting at the hotel, Schardin also allegedly showed up to one of the boys’ hockey games and texted them when they returned home to Colorado, according to the Pioneer Press.

On Monday, Tribune of Stars reported that prosecutors asked the court to “treat the defendant’s conduct as no less serious than if the defendant were a man and the victims were girls.”

“If the gender were reversed, few would believe that leniency was appropriate,” prosecutors told the court, according to the newspaper.

Prosecutors also said the boys “lost friends and had to endure whispers and harmful comments from others as if they were the perpetrators” as a result of Schardin’s assault, according to the prosecutor’s office. Tribune.

“Both victims were initially suspended from the hockey team, but were later reinstated after an explanation of what happened,” the prosecutor’s office said. “However, this victory was short-lived as the team management decided to cancel the rest of the season.”

As part of the sentence Tribune reports that Schardin must undergo psychiatric treatment and register as a sex offender for the next 10 years.
