One person died after a car collided with a tree in Georgetown County

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – One person has died a day after a crash in Georgetown County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Lance Cpl. Lena Butler said that just before 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, a car was driving on Luvan Boulevard near Georgetown when it went off the road and hit a tree.

The only person in the car was taken to Grand Strand Medical Center but died of his injuries on Wednesday.

The Horry County Coroner’s Office will release the driver’s identity at a later date.
