Hezbollah’s top commander murdered in eastern Lebanon: Sheikh Muhammad Ali Hammadi shot dead outside his home in Lebanon

Senior Hezbollah commander Sheikh Muhammad Ali Hammadi, who was on the FBI’s most wanted list, was shot dead outside his home in eastern Lebanon, according to reports.

Hammadi was killed instantly on Tuesday evening when unidentified assailants opened fire and shot a senior Hezbollah official six times.

Ruling out any political views, local reports say Hammadi died following a long-running family dispute.

Hammadi came on the FBI’s radar after hijacking a West German plane carrying 153 passengers in 1985. He was reportedly involved in the torture and killing of an American citizen during a flight.

The incident occurred in the context of the ongoing ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon. In 2023, Hezbollah joined Hamas’ war against Israel.

Last year, Israel infiltrated Hezbollah’s supply chaincausing several walkie-talkies and pagers are exploding across Syria and Israel. Upping the ante, Israel eliminated at least seven top Hezollah commanders, including Hassan Nasrallah, and invaded southern Lebanon in the weeks leading up to the ceasefire agreement.
