Some unidentified attackers abducted another five people for a ransom in Teknaf, updated Cox.

The incident occurred when the victims collected wood from a hilly area on the eastern side of Chakma Para under the Ward-5 in Baharchhara Union in Upisi in the morning around 11 am (February 5), a member of the local Union Parishad said Humayun Kabir, said Business Standard.

The victims are Maruf Ullah, 18, Mohammad Kaif Ullah, 17, Mohammad ESA, 28, Yusuf Ullah, 30 and MD Abu, they all come from Math Para and Bainna Para, under the NO-5 branch in Baharchhara Teknaf.

Referring to the family members of the victims, Humayun said: “A total of 15 people from Math Para and Bainna Para went to collect wood from local hills when a group of attackers took their hostages in the crosshair.”

“The attackers detained five people and released the remaining 10, who after returning found that they were taken as hostages while collecting wood. The advice freed them so that they could collect the occupation for the Porwiszczynów. The returners informed their families about this matter, “Humayun added.

Humayun kept said that he was in the town of Cox during the incident and was informed about this matter by phone calls from the victim’s families. “I informed the Baharchhara Police Investigation Center about this matter.”

Inspector (investigation) Teknaf Model Police Post Himel Ray said he was informed about this matter through local public representatives and the media.

“However, the families of the victims have not yet lodged complaints. Despite this, the police are asking and the rides are continued to save the victims, “said the inspector.

According to the data of the Cox regional police and the families of the victims, 219 people from various areas in the district have been abducted over the past year.
