A 30-year-old man was brutally hacked to death by Naxalites in the Dantewad District in Chhattisgarh, apparently on charges of being a police informant, said an official on Wednesday. It is worth noting that this is the third murder in the last two days in Dantewad and Bijapur districts.

A group of unidentified naxalites abducted Hadma Emla from their home in the village of Kakadi under the Zone of the Police Station in Aranpur on Tuesday evening and took him to the neighboring forest, said a police officer.

Naksals killed a peasant, watering his throat

According to the initial investigation, the attackers accused a 30-year-old man of being a police guide before they gave their throat and abandoned the body near the village. After notifying the incident on Wednesday morning a police team came to the village and sent the body to an autopsy.

He added that the security forces immediately began searching in the area to trace the attackers.

The incident is approaching the heel of the murder of two men, one of them former Naxalite, in the neighboring Bijapur district two days ago. They were both killed by Naxalites, according to the police.

Similar incidents took place in the past

Earlier, on January 26, Naxalites killed a 41-year-old man in the Bhairamgarh region in Bijapur, accusing him of being an informant. On January 16, for the same reason, they killed a 48-year-old man in the Mircur region in Bijapur. According to the police, 68 civilians were killed last year in various cases of Naxal violence in the Bastar region, including seven districts, including Bijapur.

In particular, elections to local bodies will take place this month at Chhattisgarh. Elections for 173 civic bodies – including ten city corporations, 49 city councils and 114 Nagar Panchayats – will take place on February 11. In addition, Panchayat elections will take place in three stages 17, 20 and 23.
