Metropolitan policeman was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison for assaulting a man who was hacking in a hospital bed.

28 -year -old PC Rajan Solanki was convicted in the municipality of Westminster after he confessed to the assault by defeating, an independent police office (IOPC).

The police authority said that the allegation related to the incident in the early June 10, 2024, when the brine and another officer participated in a man who was admitted to the London Eastern Hospital to assess mental health.

When the officers arrived, a man who allegedly was violent earlier that evening, every wrist shared in handcuffs to his hospital bed.

The brine from the command unit in the north -eastern part of Met took off the right handcuffs of the man, and later, trying to fold the handcuffs again, a fight took place.

The video recording worn by the body presented outside showed that brine stops the man and put his hand around his neck in a choked position.

The man seemed physically concerned and his breath seemed limited.

“Illegal strength”

The film showed that brine had a hand around the man’s neck for just over 20 seconds.

The police supervisory authority, as well as his prison sentence, the officer also held a 12-month trial period after release.

IOPC Director Amanda Rowe said: “Officers are trained to use force, which is reasonable and proportional to the circumstances.

“In this incident, PC Solanka used unlawful strength when he put his hand around the man’s neck when there was handcuffs to the hospital bed.

“His actions could have serious consequences, and now he was convicted of assault.”

The supervisory authority said that it would be in contact with Scotland on disciplinary matters “in the right time”.
