Pune: Three people, including the victim’s nephew, were arrested on Saturday on charges of a deadly assault on an unemployed man in connection with a dispute near Kokate Ali in Pashan between 6 am and 6.30.
In the Municipal Department of Police, he identified the deceased as Mahesh Tupe (56) from Pashan. Arrested suspects – Shubham Tupe (28), victim’s nephew, Om Balasaheb Nimhan and Rohan Suryavanshi (19) – also come from Pashan.
Senior inspector Ajay Waghmare from the criminal department (unit IV) said that three arrested men brutally attacked Tupe with a sharp weapon when he was on his way to buying milk and escaped.

He said that the investigations revealed the commitment of Shubham and his two friends in the victim’s murder, but their place of stay was not known.
A police officer said: “We worked on some tips and determined the identity of OM, one of the attackers. We received reliable information from the informant that he was waiting behind the temple in Perubaug Gate in Pashan, after which he was arrested. “
During the interrogation, he confessed to his commitment to the murder with his two partners who fled. Shubham and Rohan were arrested later. Waghmare said: “We moved the care of the attackers to the Chatushrungi police to take action.”
