Malaysia’s police identified a man who fired more than eight shots at a shopping center in Setia Alam, Selangor.

Police head Selangor Hussein Omar Khan said he was suspected of a local man over 30 years.

“He has 11 earlier penalty registers,” said Datuk Hussein in a statement of February 9. “We are in the process of tracking him. The motive of the incident is still being examined. “

He said that the cleaner was putting off the cleaning agents when the incident took place around 22:00 February 8.

“(Man) was shot in the leg and buttocks. He was taken to the Shah Alam hospital for treatment, “said Hussein.

He said that the suspect then went to the P2 level in the shopping center and fired a few shots at the sliding door before he went to the parking lot.

“The patron in the shopping center was adopted by the suspect, but he continued the lead. The suspect then fired a shot that hit his car. Since then, the victim has made a police report – he added.

However, the suspect directed the pistol towards another driver who stopped.

“The suspect forced the driver to pull him out of the shopping center. Then he instructed the driver to throw him near the Pandamaran output in Kesas Expressway, “said Hussein.

He said that the police recovered over 10 bullets on the stairs and parking lots of the shopping center.

“We examine on the basis of Section 3 of the Act on firearms, as well as Section 307 of the Penal Code. We call people with information about the incident to contact the Shah Alam police at 03-55204444 or any nearest police station, said Hussein.

He said that preliminary investigations revealed that the incident was not associated with the Goldsmith attack.

“However, we do not exclude the possibility that the suspect plans to do it,” said Hussein. “In this way we continue to study.”

Earlier it was reported that the police confirmed the shooting incident at the shopping center on the night of February 8.

Shah Alam OCPD MOHD IQBAL IBRAHIM said that the area around the shopping center was confirmed safe before all threats and allowed to act as usual.

He said that the police reviewed all the materials of the Czech TV in the area and carried out the operation of “rinsing” in the area before confirmed that the situation and location were safe.

“After a thorough inspection, we confirm that this area is safe and the premises will be able to operate today as usual,” said Ibrahim as he met at the scene.

He added that the police forensic unit conducts a detailed investigation at the scene, in which it is believed that the incident occurred before the end of the hours of the premises.
