A man is dead after an overnight shooting in Maryvale

PHOENIX (AZ family) — A man has died after being shot overnight in Maryvale and police remain actively investigating.

Police received a report of a shooting around 12:20 a.m. Friday 53rd Avenue and Thomas Road.

Officers found a man who had been shot at least once. According to the police, he was taken to hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Detectives are on site investigating the cause of the shooting. No suspect information is available at this time.

As the investigation progresses, the area is closed.
