Chhattisgarh: One person is dead after part of an under-construction building collapsed in Raipur

At least one worker was killed and nine others injured after part of an under-construction building collapsed in Chhattisgarh’s Raipur on Saturday, authorities said.

According to officials, the accident occurred in Vishal Nagar area on VIP Road during the construction of a multi-story building.

According to the police, between the seventh and tenth floors of the building, while the slab was being laid, the centering frame broke and fell to the ground.

Two employees were seriously injured and taken to hospital.

The official said construction materials were being removed from the site to check whether any more workers were trapped PTI news agency.

Four workers were recently killed following the collapse of a silo at a steel plant in Chhattisgarh’s Mungeli district on Thursday. One employee died on Thursday, the bodies of three others were found on Saturday after a 42-hour operation.

Rescue teams involving more than 400 people launched the operation after receiving information that some workers were trapped under the rubble, officials said.
