IDF arrests over 25 terrorists in numerous raids on the West Bank – Israel News

The IDF arrested more than 25 people in raids in the West Bank last week, including 16 people from the village of Burka near Ramallah last Monday (Jan. 6), the IDF announced in a statement on Sunday.

The IDF also arrested another eight people from Kabatiya on Saturday and another two on Sunday in Nablus.

The increase in the number of raids was caused by: terrorist attack that killed three Israelis and on January 6 wounded seven others near the Palestinian village of al-Funduq. The three terrorists were linked to the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

Jewish extremists burned cars and looted the village of Hajanear Al-Funduq on the night of January 6.

Following the attack, members of the Shahar Battalion raided the village of Burka and arrested 16 suspects of involvement in terrorist incidents the same night.

A member of the unit explained some of the preparations before the raid: “An hour before departure, each member of the unit already knows exactly what the targets are that they are going to arrest and why. Throughout the day, we memorize their facial features and examine them in depth, as well as the events in which they are suspected of being involved.”

Raids on the West Bank

Another eight wanted people were detained on Friday in a joint counterterrorism operation conducted by the IDF, border police and the Shin Bet in the Palestinian town of Kabatiya in the northern West Bank. The operation reportedly lasted 12 hours.

During air raids, two terrorists were killed in close combat, when at the same time an IAF plane killed two terrorists in the Jordan Valley area.

Two more Kabati terrorists were arrested in Nablus on Sunday as they planned the inevitable terrorist attack; they were also linked to the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
